The Santa Clara Valley Water District (SCVWD) construction on the Rancho San Antonio County Park detention basin project is underway. Some trees were removed from the site earlier this year and work on the new south parking lot and new restrooms is beginning soon. During this phase, the current south parking lot (equestrian lot) will remain open until the new parking lot is complete and ready for use. Intermittent trail closures will be in place.
Work on the detention basin area is expected to begin in April, which includes a long-term closure of portions of the Hammond-Snyder loop trail. Additional information about this phase will be shared closer to the start of the work.
