How many lizards can you count while hiking on the trail? Join Docent Naturalists Roberta and Jaime Cavazos and Annie Guo on family-fun lizard safari! You’ll make a prediction before you start the trek of how many of these scaly squamates you’ll spot while circling Horseshoe Lake. Bring a light snack to enjoy during a quick break from tallying these fast and entertaining reptiles.

Where to Meet

Meet at the Skyline Ridge Circle Parking Area on Skyline Boulevard located one mile south of the Skyline Blvd. (Highway 35) and Page Mill/Alpine Road intersection. After entering the preserve, turn right and go to the farthest parking area. Those traveling from I-280 on Page Mill Rd. should allow approximately 45 minutes travel time.
