Sierra Azul + Bear Creek Master Plan

Proceedings from the 2nd Master Plan Public Workshop

The District held its second public workshop for the Sierra Azul-Bear Creek Redwoods Master Plan project on November 10, 2005 with more than 100 members of the public in attendance. The project team presented an overview of the opportunities and obstacles that exist for recreation and resource management based on a number of factors, including sensitive and unique plant communities and wildlife habitats, slope, geology, and historical and cultural resources. The public was asked to evaluate a number of high-interest recreational topics, such as staging areas and trail corridors, using the challenges and opportunities information. Below are some of the maps presented at the second public workshop, as well as maps annotated with comments from the public.
