Video Submission Guidelines
The District invites the public to submit videos for possible feature on openspace.org. Before submitting, please review the submission guidelines below.
- Capture footage on District preserves. Subjects may include (but are not limited to) wildlife, landscape, weather, recreation, and volunteer projects.
- Keep the video short: web surfers have limited attention spans, so short and sweet is best (under 2 minutes).
- District videos are currently hosted on YouTube, where a variety of formats are acceptable; however, for optimal results, MPEG4 (Divx, Xvid) format at 1920 x 1080 (1080p) or 1280 x 720 resolution with MP3 audio is recommended.
- You retain all rights to any video(s) you submit-- including ownership if applicable-- other than those rights licensed in the next sentance. By submitting video content, you grant the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District:
(i) a nonexlusive, worldwide, irredvocable, royalty-free license to reproduce, distribute, and publicly display and play the video you submit to the District, and
(ii) the right to use your name in promotions and other publications.
- For large video files (exceeding 10 MB), please submit via snail mail (burn to CD) to the District Administrative Office.
While we appreciate all submissions, please understand that the District reserves the right to determine whether the content is appropriate and suitable for openspace.org. For more information, please contact web@openspace.org.
