The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District invites aspiring teen videographers to participate in the Teen Video Challenge, running April 20, 2011 through August 20, 2011.

YOUR RIGHTS

You will retain all rights to any video you submit—including ownership if applicable—other than those rights licensed in these rules. By entering the Video Challenge, you hereby grant to the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District:

(i) a nonexclusive, worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free license to reproduce, distribute, publicly display, and publicly perform the video(s) you submit to the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District, and
(ii) the right to use your name in promotions and other publications.


HOW TO ENTER

Starting April 20, 2011, enter up to three videos (per participant) using our video uploader tool. Once your video is uploaded, one of our editors will review your clip and if everything looks ok, we will publish it on the Video Challenge gallery.

  1. No special account is needed to participate in the Teen Video Challenge.
  2. Browse your computer to find your video (we accept avi, QuickTime, mpeg4, wmv, h.264, dv)
  3. Give your video a title.
  4. Give your video a short description.
  5. Upload your file.

 

We do NOT accept videos submitted via email or through the postal mail.


RULES

  1. The Video Challenge runs April 20, 2011 - August 20, 2011. The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District reserves the right to adjust any deadline(s) as the result of causes beyond its immediate control.
  2. As the objective of this Challenge is to engage teen users on District lands, participants must currently be enrolled in high school (grades 9-12).
  3. Videos must be taken on District lands that are open to the public.
  4. At a minimum, please include videographer name and Preserve name(s) in the video upload form. Any additional information (species, trail, etc.) is appreciated.
  5. Limit: 3 videos per participant.
  6. Keep the video short: 3 minutes maximum
  7. Keep it clean: we have a diverse audience, so please: no profanities, sexual content, violence, drinking, drugs, etc.
  8. The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District shall determine recipient of the UltraHD Flip camera at its sole and absolute discretion. District employees and their family members are not eligible to receive a prize. All decisions made by the District are final.


THE FINE PRINT

The Video Challenge is open to participants meeting our eligibility requirements regardless of residence or citizenship, so long as the laws of their jurisdiction allow participation. Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District employees and their family members may participate in the Video Challenge but are not eligible to receive a prize. Video submissions must be uploaded by 11:59 p.m. Pacific Standard Time on August 20, 2011. Please review these Video Challenge Rules before participating. Good luck!
