Update: This Coexisting with Cougars program has been canceled. Please consider joining us for the next scheduled Coexisting with Cougars program on May 14th.
Join us and our friends at Hidden Villa to learn more about mountain lions! Midpen's Resource Management Specialist, Matthew Sharp Chaney, will provide an overview of mountain lion biology, habitat and current research. He will talk about how you can stay safe in mountain lion habitat and how Midpen responds to mountain lion encounters. Additionally, learn more about the Highway 17 Wildlife and Trail Crossings project, which will connect over 30,000 acres of protected public lands and enable wide-ranging animals like mountain lions to roam and help reduce wildlife-vehicle collisions. Guests will have a chance to talk with staff and visit the mountain lion education table for additional resources.
5:30 - 5:45 Meet and Greet the Staff & Interactive Displays
5:45 - 6:30 Mountain Lion Presentation
6:30 - 7:00 Question and Answer Period
