Approximate Total Miles
7.5

Traverse one preserve and two parks on this moderately-paced out-and-back hike along the old Summit Road while cultivating your senses with Docent Naturalists Bobbie Riedel, Nick Yatsko, and Marie Faust-Evitt. You’ll listen to sounds within a canopy of great oaks, smell fragrant firs overhead, feel soft forest duff underfoot, touch moss-covered rocks trailside, and enjoy a view over the valley out to Mt Hamilton. Bring lunch for a stop along the trail.

Where to Meet

Meet at Hickory Oaks Roadside Parking; 5.1 miles south of Page Mill Road or 1.3 miles north of Highway 9 on the west side of Skyline Boulevard.
