Hiker in El Corte de Madera Creek Preserve. (Karl Gohl)

Midpen's public access projects are designed to balance caring for the land with providing opportunities for ecologically sensitive public enjoyment. Midpen strives to provide public access to our open space lands to everyone, without regard to place of residence, physical abilities or economic status, so all may experience firsthand the beauty of the Bay Area's natural setting.

Managing public use activities while protecting natural resources and public safety starts with a comprehensive planning approach in partnership with neighbors and the larger community.  New trails and staging areas are built with environmentally sound construction techniques, and natural resource restoration is a key component of every project.
