Explore magnificent redwood trees on a moderate-paced hike with Docent Naturalists Marie Faust Evitt, Catherine Crawford-Swent and Ann McCarty. Inhale the scent of the lofty second-growth forest as you hike and do some fun activities along parts of the Sierra Morena, Oljon, Steam Donkey, and Gordon Mill trails. Gaze in awe at Methuselah, the oldest and largest living tree in the Santa Cruz Mountains, aside from those in Big Basin. Discover native peoples’ respect for these iconic trees. Bring lunch or a snack. Engaged children who can comfortably walk at least 4 miles are welcome.

Where to Meet

Meet at the El Corte de Madera Parking Area located on the west side of Highway 35 (Skyline Boulevard), about 1- mile south of the Caltrans Skeggs Point parking area and 2.7 miles north of the intersection of Highway 35 and Highway 84.
