Engage with the oak woodlands during a fun morning with Volunteer Program Lead Catherine Caldwell, Interpretive Specialist Katie Renz, and Docent Naturalists Ani Agahian, Alison Thompson, and Jessica Kolla. You’ll learn about restoration work and connecting to nature through a little nonnative, invasive plant removal followed by an interpretive hike highlighting the staggering diversity of creatures living in an oak-dominated landscape. Bring a snack or lunch. Registration is required and will be open on June 4: Sign up here.
Staff will provide training on plant identification, removal techniques, and education about why we want to remove yellow star thistle from our local landscape and then lead you on a hike among beautiful oak woodlands highlighting the natural and cultural history of the area.
