May 4th marks the 55th anniversary of the day that the commander of the Almaden Air Force Station, Major Robert L. Robinson, and 12 other people perished in a plane crash at Hamilton Air Force Base in Novato. Without a doubt, it was the worst day in the history of the Almaden Air Force Station. During this talk, you'll reflect on the memory of Major Robinson and the others who gave the ultimate sacrifice. You will also learn what was it like living and working at the Almaden Air Force Station on Mt. Umunhum during the Cold War. Join Docent Naturalist Ken Miller (a retired Midpen ranger) and Umunhum Conservancy President Basim Jaber for this leisurely-paced walk which will include walking up and down 159 steps.

Where to Meet
