Informational Tour

The public is invited to take part on this tour. Seats in the District vehicles are limited, so it will be a first come, first served.  Please RSVP to Lisa Atwood at 650-691-1200 by 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2017, so that the District may arrange sufficient transportation between locations. Field trip will include visiting areas currently closed to the public.

 

The Committee will be driving to project sites at Mount Umunhum, Bear Creek Open Space Preserves, and drive by San Jose Water Land. The committee will be receiving a presentation from staff regarding the types of projects completed and planned by the District. The Tour will take place between 10:00 am and 4:30 pm. The sites are listed below and any stops are noted as such.

10:00 Meet at the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District Parking Lot
The group will drive to Mount Umunhum: Takes approximately 1 hour, 15 min.

11:30 District vehicles arrive at Mount Umunhum
  - Tour of Mount Umunhum

12:45 District vehicles depart to drive through and briefly stop in San Jose Water land, then head to  Bear Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve

2:30 Arrival at Bear Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve (former Alma College site)
  - Tour of future Alma College parking lot area

3:30 Arrival at Lenihan Dam adjacent to Alma Bridge Road (Highway 17 Wildlife and Trail Crossing)

4:00 ADJOURNMENT

Return to Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District in District vehicles (45 Minute drive time)
