Midpen Careers in Conservation Job Fair

All are welcome to attend, and the event is free for all attendees. If you are looking for a job, curious to learn more about job opportunities in the conservation field, hoping to network, or if all three apply to you, be sure to join us!

Attendees at the event will walk away with information about conservation work happening locally, as well as increased familiarity and knowledge of local organizations working in conservation. You will be able to meet Bay Area conservation employers, network with local conservation professionals, learn about career journeys in conservation in a wide variety of career paths and get information to enhance your resume and/or cover letter.

Job fairs are a great opportunity to meet face to face with hiring managers and HR professionals. There isn't an official dress code, however, this is your chance to make a great first impression to potential employers, so use your best judgment on attire. 

Please bring:

• A list of questions and talking points for the organizations that will be attending the Career Fair. 
• A pen and paper, or electronic device to take notes. 

TIP: Don't be discouraged if employers do not accept resumes on site at the fair and instead ask you to apply online. This is common practice. Be prepared to write down the necessary information to apply online if a hard copy resume is not accepted.

No, as the Career Fair is intended to be an informational event. Attendees are welcome to ask employers questions about their hiring processes and can talk to recruitment professionals at the event. 

• Employers will expect you to have basic knowledge of their organization, and to have done some initial research about the kinds of jobs or internships they offer. We recommend that you check out their websites before the fair begins. 
• Be ready to introduce yourself and express interest to the employers you want to work for. 
• An employer will expect you to be sensitive to the other people at the fair. If you are the only person at a table, feel free to ask as many questions as you'd like. However, if there is a long line, or multiple people at the table, please make sure you are concise with your questions and considerate of others. 

Employers will not offer direct job placements at the fair, however, attending the Career Fair could still help you move forward in your internship or jobs search. Midpen and other employers present at the fair can help you to:

• Develop a strategy for your job search
• Recommend job search tools
• Connect you with employers and recruitment professionals
• Review your application materials (resume, cover letter, etc.)
• Answer questions about the hiring process

Yes, the Los Altos Community Center is ADA-compliant and accessible to all attendees. The facility includes accessible parking spaces, entrances, restrooms, and spaces.
