Join Docent Naturalists Melissa Hero and Roberta and Jaime Cavazos on a family-friendly, leisurely-paced hike to discover the amazing banana slugs! Learn fun facts while counting how many of these bright yellow creatures you encounter on the Purisima Creek Trail. Bring a light snack to enjoy at a stop along the way where you will also make your own banana slug to take home. (Note: This is a small parking area.) Reservations are required and will be accepted on or after February 4 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) and close February 16 at 2:00 p.m.

Where to Meet

Meet at the Purisima Creek trailhead on Purisima Creek Road. From the Highway 92 and Highway 1 intersection in Half Moon Bay, travel south on Highway 1 approximately 4.3 miles. Turn left on Verde Road. After turning on Verde Rd. and traveling 0.25 miles, continue straight to remain on what becomes Purisima Creek Rd. (Verde Rd. splits off to the right.) Travel approximately 3.7 miles on Purisima Creek Rd. to reach the preserve. There are 7 spaces and 1 ADA parking at this area.
