Ready for a fun scavenger hunt designed to help you get to know some of the local berries, both of the edible and poisonous varieties? Join Docent Naturalists Olga and Tony Bright for a casual search to identify plants and their fruits on this leisurely-paced, family-friendly hike around Sausal Pond. Your route will include the Betsy Crowder and Spring Ridge trails, both which have shady and sunny areas to explore together. (Note: Foraging is prohibited in Midpen preserves and most other managed lands.)
The Lower Windy Hill Parking Area at the lower portion of the preserve is located on Portola Road. Please note: This parking lot fills quickly. Please do not park on Portola Road: parking is strictly enforced.
