Interested in visiting a fascinating microcosm of late 19th century California history? Join Docent Naturalists Olga and Tony Bright for a leisurely-paced hike to explore the natural and cultural history of the Hawthorns Area, a limited access location that is not contiguous to the rest of Windy Hill Preserve. Come and admire grassland and oak woodland habitats, an olive grove, the architecture of a house built in the late 1800s, and sweeping views (weather permitting). (Note: Directions will be sent. A docent will meet you at the gate and direct you to parking area. Some sections of the walk are on unimproved trails.) Reservations are required and will be accepted on or after March 31 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) and close April 12 at 2:00 p.m.
