Explorer Hike: Bayside Birding

October 4, 2023
10:30 am - 2:20 pm
Ravenswood Preserve
Approximate Total Miles
3

Join Docent Naturalists Kate Bauer, Mary Brunkhorst, and Nick Yatsko for a leisurely-paced, level stroll on the western edge of the San Francisco Bay. You'll greet migratory birds as they return via the Pacific Flyway from their northern breeding grounds and learn why this preserve is important to many species of birds. Bring your lunch, binoculars and any guidebooks you have, and most importantly your desire to learn about birds.

Where to Meet

Meet at the Ravenswood Parking Area. From Highway 101, exit on University Avenue. Follow University Ave. north (about four long blocks) to Bay Road.  Turn right on Bay Rd. and follow it to the very end (about 1.2 miles).  The preserve entrance and parking lot are marked with large signs.
