Set off to look for California nutmeg trees with Docent Naturalists Kate Bauer, Mary Brunkhorst, and Nick Yatsko. You'll enjoy a mostly shaded route along the Nutmeg and Red Mountain trails on this leisurely-paced hike with a 600 feet of elevation gain. You'll discover some amazing traits of California nutmeg trees while enjoying the beauty of these quiet trails.

Please allow extra travel time to accommodate single lane traffic controls on Highway 9.

Where to Meet

Meet at Caltran's Saratoga Gap Vista Point Parking Area on the southeast corner of the Skyline Boulevard (Highway 35) and Highway 9 intersection.
