Explorer Hike: Winter in Rancho

Wednesday, December 17, 2025
10:30 am - 2:30 pm
Rancho San Antonio Preserve
Approximate Total Miles
4.25

Join Docent Naturalists Nick Yatsko, Mary Brunkhorst, and Kate Bauer for a loop hike along the Stephen E. Abbors, Wildcat Loop, and Coyote trails. On this moderately-paced exploration you’ll get to appreciate sweeping bay views and enjoy diverse habitats, including woodland, riparian, and grasslands. Bring your preferred food for a lunch break part way through the hike.

Where to Meet

Meet at Lot 1 which includes the equestrian parking lot. From I-280, take Foothill Boulevard south and turn right almost immediately onto Cristo Rey Drive. Continue about 1 mile, veer right around the traffic circle, and turn left into the park. Once inside the preserve, turn left to reach the equestrian parking lot.
