Fall Changes in Rancho Hike

Tuesday, October 21, 2025
8:45 am - 11:45 am
Rancho San Antonio Preserve
Approximate Total Miles
6

Head out on this vigorously-paced, aerobic morning hike in Midpen’s most popular preserve. Docent Naturalists Linda Wegner, Bobbie Riedel, and Nick Yatsko will point out some of the seasonal changes that arrive with autumn in the oak woodland and soft chaparral habitats. Your route will trek past Deer Hollow Farm, up Rogue Valley Trail to a viewpoint, and down High Meadow Trail. Views, wildlife, and birds guaranteed, and perhaps snakes or tarantulas if you’re lucky!

Where to Meet

Meet near the restroom at the bottom of the hill in the preserve parking lot farthest to the right. From I-280, take Foothill Boulevard south and turn right almost immediately onto Cristo Rey Drive. Continue about 1 mile, veer right around the traffic circle, and turn left into the park. After entering the preserve, turn right and drive approximately 0.3 miles to Lot 6
