Approximate Total Miles

Have you ever felt a sense of wonder and the sublime in natural settings? If so, this may be the hike for you. Join Docent Naturalists Catherine Crawford-Swent, Megan Elmore, Ann McCarty, and Marie Faust Evitt to explore the natural world with the goals of inspiring awe, “touching the earth,” and learning a simple meditative practice. Your moderately-paced route is along the Tafoni and El Corte de Madera Creek trails, which includes some steep sections but will include stops for discussion. No prior experience is needed and no religious affiliation will be promoted. Bring a snack or a lunch. Come share your perspectives on healing and join us in encouraging a feeling of positivity even amidst challenging times.

Where to Meet

Meet at the Caltrans Skeggs Point Parking Area on the east side of Skyline Boulevard, about 4 miles north of La Honda Road (Highway 84) and 1.5 miles south of Kings Mountain Road.  Please note that Caltrans prohibits a left turn into the parking lot when approaching from the north along Skyline Blvd.
