It's been said that attention is a form of love. In honor of tomorrow's Valentine's Day, join Interpretive Specialist Katie Renz and Docent Naturalist Catherine Xun for an all-day hike to give your attention to the more-than-human world. You'll appreciate a wild bouquet, sit under the redwood canopy to listen to stories of logging history, and learn about Midpen's conservation efforts, as well as fill your heart with the beauty of ocean views and forested valleys. Maybe you'll even see some mating banana slugs or courting newts! (Note: Though this is a long route looping from North Ridge, Whittemore Gulch, Purisima Creek, Craig Britton, and Harkins Ridge trails, it is leisurely-to-moderately-paced with several interpretive stops. Hiking poles recommended.) Bring snacks and a lunch; chocolate hearts optional.
