Approximate Total Miles
2.5

Would you like to circumnavigate the San Francisco Bay? It’s gotten a little easier thanks to Measure AA funding. Meander along a stretch of the Bay Trail with Docent Naturalists Bobbie Riedel and Melissa Hero and learn what it took to close a critical gap in the trail. You’ll also hear about the largest tidal wetland restoration project on the West Coast. This leisurely-paced walk will introduce you to the rich mosaic of salt marsh habitat and leave you with an appreciation for the work required to protect our natural environment.

Where to Meet

Meet at the Ravenswood Parking Area. From Highway 101, exit on University Avenue. Follow University Ave. north (about four long blocks) to Bay Road.  Turn right on Bay Rd. and follow it to the very end (about 1.2 miles).  The preserve entrance and parking lot are marked with large signs.

To ensure your experience on a docent naturalist outing is enjoyable please review these activity guidelines.

If your activity requires registration, please be sure to cancel your reservation (from your confirmation email) if you are no longer able to attend so others can participate.
