Mindful Movement

Approximate Total Miles

Join Docent Naturalists An Scharlaken, Jennifer Anthony, and Jim McNulty for a relaxing walk, experiencing the benefits of forest bathing and mindful movement beneath the oak canopy. You’ll start with a leisurely-paced hike to Sausal Pond to warm up with standing stretches, then walk to an area under majestic oak trees where you’ll have a 15-minute standing yoga session. You’ll also do some other “mindful” movements and meditations along the Betsy Crowder Trail. This activity is designed for any level: easy, slowly paced, and with focus on breathing. Bring a snack or light lunch for a short break. (Note: The area for yoga is soil. Due to the meditative component, this activity is for participants over the age of 16.)

Where to Meet

The Lower Windy Hill Parking Area at the lower portion of the preserve is located on Portola Road. Please note: This parking lot fills quickly. Please do not park on Portola Road: parking is strictly enforced.

To ensure your experience on a docent naturalist outing is enjoyable please review these activity guidelines.
