Feel refreshed on a late-winter morning stroll with Docent Naturalists Laura Levin, Emma Finter, and Marie-Anne Neimat through meadow and creekside habitats to visit the historic Deer Hollow Farm. You'll pause along the Permanente Creek and Lower Meadow trails to observe interesting flora and fauna, as well as learn about the many business ventures of the homesteading Grant family during their nearly eight decades on the site. This is a leisurely-paced walk with spacious time for nature appreciation and questions.
Meet near the restroom at the bottom of the hill in the preserve parking lot farthest to the right. From I-280, take Foothill Boulevard south and turn right almost immediately onto Cristo Rey Drive. Continue about 1 mile, veer right around the traffic circle, and turn left into the park. After entering the preserve, turn right and drive approximately 0.3 miles to Lot 6.
