Morning Meander: Meadow to Farm

November 29, 2023
9:00 am - 11:00 am
Rancho San Antonio Preserve
Approximate Total Miles
2

Feel refreshed on a morning stroll with Docent Naturalists Laura Levin, Kate Bauer, and Marie-Anne Neimat through meadow and creekside habitats to visit the historic Deer Hollow Farm. You'll learn about the many business ventures of the homesteading Grant family during nearly eight decades on the site. Following the Permanente Creek and Lower Meadow trails, you'll pause to observe interesting flora and fauna. Wild turkeys may make a post-Thanksgiving appearance. (Note: Arrive early to allow extra time for parking.)

Where to Meet

Meet near the restroom at the bottom of the hill in the preserve parking lot farthest to the right. From I-280, take Foothill Boulevard south and turn right almost immediately onto Cristo Rey Drive. Continue about 1 mile, veer right around the traffic circle, and turn left into the park. After entering the preserve, turn right and drive approximately 0.3 miles to Lot 6
