Discover and begin to recognize which plants local indigenous groups have used since time immemorial to treat a variety of ailments from loose teeth and thinning hair to headaches and chest congestion. Join Docent Naturalists Sarah Schoen, Naureen Moon, and Noa Doitel on an exploration of the Peters Creek and Long Ridge trails with a lunch break overlooking the western slopes of the Santa Cruz Mountains. There will be frequent stops to learn about the ethnobotany, or how people use plants medicinally and culturally, of this diverse habitat.
