Being out in the open space is a great opportunity to enjoy so many different activities, including picnicking! Join Docent Naturalists Roberta and Jaime Cavazos and Jessica Kolla on a family-friendly hike to search for the perfect picnic spot. You’ll take a leisurely-paced meander around Horseshoe Lake and learn about some of the amazing natural wonders in this habitat while you keep your eyes open for the best spot to sit and eat. Bring a light snack to enjoy while trying out these potentially perfect picnic places.

Where to Meet

Meet at the Skyline Ridge Circle Parking Area on Skyline Boulevard located one mile south of the Skyline Blvd. (Highway 35) and Page Mill/Alpine Road intersection. After entering the preserve, turn right and go to the farthest parking area. Those traveling from I-280 on Page Mill Rd. should allow approximately 45 minutes travel time.

To ensure your experience on a docent naturalist outing is enjoyable please review these activity guidelines.
