Edible and non-edible plants are all around you in the open space. Take this leisurely-paced hike along the Betsy Crowder and Spring Ridge trails to learn about the poisonous plants growing near Sausal Pond. Docent Naturalists Olga and Tony Bright will help you consider how this adaptation helps the plant even if it means it is not edible to humans and other animals. (Note: This is an outing for education and fun; foraging and collecting is prohibited on Midpen preserves.)
The Lower Windy Hill Parking Area at the lower portion of the preserve is located on Portola Road. Please note: This parking lot fills quickly. Please do not park on Portola Road: parking is strictly enforced.
