Ramble at Rancho

November 20, 2023
9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Rancho San Antonio Preserve
Approximate Total Miles
7.5

Enjoy the trails on this "Lucky Seven" hike with Docent Naturalists Nancy Weintraub, Nick Yatsko and Bobbie Riedel. This moderately-paced exercise-focused hike will traverse oak woodlands and chaparral habitats, and enjoy views of the creek, on 7-ish special trails for 7-ish miles. Trails include Hill, Stephen E. Abbors, Upper Wildcat Canyon, High Meadow, Wildcat Loop ("Seven Switchbacks"), Rogue Valley, and Coyote. Will there be water in the creek? How far across the bay can we see from the various views? Come find out. (Note: Bring a snack for the trail. This hike is for individuals who are comfortable climbing 1100-feet with "long distance hiking" at 2.5 miles per hour.)

Where to Meet

Meet near the restroom at the bottom of the hill in the preserve parking lot farthest to the right. From I-280, take Foothill Boulevard south and turn right almost immediately onto Cristo Rey Drive. Continue about 1 mile, veer right around the traffic circle, and turn left into the park. After entering the preserve, turn right and drive approximately 0.3 miles to Lot 6
