Respite in the Redwoods

August 7, 2023
10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Purisima Creek Redwoods Preserve
Approximate Total Miles
5.4

Enjoy the cool of the redwood forest on this mid-summer hike along the North Ridge, Harkins Ridge, Craig Britton, and Purisima Creek trails. This will be a somewhat strenuous hike due to the mileage and elevation gain, but there will be many stops to observe nature and have lunch break along the way (bring your own lunch). Both the natural and human history of the area will be discussed with Docent Naturalists Sabra Abraham, Lindsay Joye, and Chris Christensen. You'll start at the North Ridge parking area, and finish at the Redwood Roadside Parking, where a shuttle will take the drivers back to their cars.

Where to Meet

Meet at the North Ridge Parking Area on Skyline Boulevard.  This entrance is next to the now closed Kings Mountain Country Store.  The parking lot is 4.5 miles south of Highway 92, and 8.1 miles north of Highway 84.
