Scenic Aerobic Hike

March 13, 2024
10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Sierra Azul Preserve
Approximate Total Miles
5

Join Docent Naturalists Inga Buyse, Mary Brunkhorst, and Fran Keeler for a moderately-paced, exercise-focused hike on trails with beautiful scenery. You'll gain over 700 feet of elevation along the Mt. Umunhum trail. Please note: Mount Umunhum is one of the highest peaks in the Santa Cruz mountain range and has superb views on clear days. The mountain has its own extreme weather pattern which can be unpredictable and harsh and is often very different from the valley. Dress appropriately in layers.

You'll hike from Bald Mountain to the summit and carpool back to Bald Mountain. Carpools will be arranged for the return drive. You have the option of extending your hike by walking back down the trail.

Scenic Aerobic hikes are offered at different preserves on the second Wednesday of each month. The route of each hike will be determined by the docents based on current trail and weather conditions.
