Late spring is the perfect time to talk about seeds, as wildflowers get pollinated, fertilized, and start developing into seed-filled fruits. How do plants spread their seeds, and why are they important? Join Docent Naturalists John Seyfarth and Ann McCarty for a leisurely-paced hike on the (mostly shady) Meadow, Spring Ridge, and Betsy Crowder trails to investigate such questions and more. You'll come away from the hike with an appreciation of these tiny powerhouses—seeds!—that keep the planet green and growing. (Note: There is a picnic area available at the nearby Town Center for an optional lunch afterwards.)
