Picchetti Ranch Preserve
Approximate Total Miles
2.5

Learn all about the fascinating world of seeds with Docent Naturalists Sabra Abraham, Karen DeMello, and Megan Elmore. You’ll search for seeds, explore how they spread, and discover the various, innovative strategies that help the next generation take root. Your out-and-back route will follow the mostly shady Zinfandel Trail, with minimal elevation gain but a couple short, steep sections. There is a picnic area available at the winery for lunch if you opt to stay after the hike.

Where to Meet

Meet at the preserve parking lot on Montebello Road. From the intersection of I-280 and Foothill Expressway, go 3.5 miles southwest (toward the mountains) on Foothill Boulevard/Stevens Canyon Road.  Turn right on Montebello Rd.  The preserve is 0.5 miles up Montebello Rd. on the left.
