Trail Trek Thursday

May 23, 2024
9:30 am - 1:30 pm
Monte Bello Preserve
Approximate Total Miles
7

Trail Treks, scheduled on the fourth Thursday, provide exercise-focused hikes and opportunities to discover Midpen's beautiful preserves.

Appreciate the spectacular views stretching from Santa Cruz to the San Francisco Bay on this moderately-paced hike with Docent Naturalists Nancy Weintraub, Bobbie Riedel, and Nick Yatsko. You’ll have several wildlife and wildflower viewing opportunities amid the rolling hills along Canyon, Old Ranch, Indian Creek, and Lower White Oak trails. There is limited shade on the 1,400-foot ascent but plenty of tree cover on the way down. Bring a snack for a short break at the peak of Black Mountain.

Where to Meet

Meet at the Monte Bello Parking Area on Page Mill Road (across from Los Trancos Preserve), 7 miles west of I-280 or 1.5 miles east of Skyline Boulevard. Those traveling from I-280 on Page Mill Rd. should allow approximately 35 minutes travel time.

To ensure your experience on a docent naturalist outing is enjoyable please review these activity guidelines.
