Explore two segments of this vast preserve on a leisurely-paced hike with Docent Naturalists Greg Azevedo, Sabra Abraham, and Paul Billig. From the Bald Mountain Lot, you'll travel along lower segment of the Mount Umunhum Trail, to the Guadalupe Creek Overlook for a view of this preserve, the Santa Clara Valley, and areas across the San Francisco Bay. Will return back downhill on the same trail to the Bald Mountain Parking area, short break, and continue onto trail to Bald Mountain. From this second vista point you’ll witness vistas of this preserve and other open spaces. (Note: Reservations are required and will be accepted on or after October 8 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) and close October 20 at 2:00 p.m.)

Where to Meet

Meet at the Bald Mountain Parking Area located on Mt. Umunhum Rd. Exit Highway 85 at Camden Avenue. (From northbound Hwy. 85 turn left on Branham Avenue and then turn left on Camden Ave. and from southbound Hwy. 85 turn left on Camden Ave.) Travel on Camden Ave. about 1.6 miles to Hicks Road and turn right, and travel for about 6.3 miles. Turn right on Mt. Umunhum Rd. and continue for about 1.7 miles. The parking lot will be on the left.
