Discover hidden facets about the majestic oak tree while exploring in the oak woodland forest. You'll learn about oak life cycles and marvel and appreciate the shapes, textures, and varieties of oak trees in their natural habitat. Come with your curiosity and wonder with Docent Naturalists Ann McCarty, Catherine Crawford-Swent, and Helena Cohen on this moderately-paced hike on the Ancient Oaks, Bo Gimbal, and Ridge trails.

Where to Meet

Meet at the Mindego Gateway Parking Area on Alpine Road.  From I-280, exit Page Mill Road and head west. Drive about 9 miles to the junction with Skyline Boulevard, cross over Skyline Blvd. and on to Alpine Road. Continue on Alpine Rd. for 1.5 miles. Parking area is on the right. Allow 45 minutes travel time from I-280.
