Come celebrate International Vulture Awareness Day on a leisurely-paced walk along the Lost Trail with Docent Naturalists Melissa Hero and Cathy Brown. Learn about this group of birds—one of the most imperiled in the world—while honoring their importance within our local ecosystems. You’ll stop to appreciate other birds you see and hear as well. If time allows, you'll walk on the Anniversary Trail to enjoy views from Windy Hill Summit, too. Please bring binoculars if you have them.

Where to Meet

From the intersection of Highway 84 and Skyline Blvd. (Hwy 35), head south on Skyline Blvd. for 2.3 miles. Picnic Tables Roadside Parking (Highway 35) is just south of the Anniversary trailhead. You'll see parking and a bathroom on the east side of the road and a large pull-out area (where it is okay to park) on the west side.

To ensure your experience on a docent naturalist outing is enjoyable please review these activity guidelines.

If your activity requires registration, please be sure to cancel your reservation (from your confirmation email) if you are no longer able to attend so others can participate.

After your participation on a guided activity please share your feedback — your input is meaningful to our volunteers and program staff – thank you!
