Join Docent Naturalists Kate Bauer, Nick Yatsko and Emma Finter on the first day of the new water year for a leisurely-paced hike through the Stevens Creek watershed along the Zinfandel Trail. Learn some of the ways a healthy watershed depends on the complex interactions between water, geology, soil, plants, and wildlife and in turn supports a rich diversity of species including humans. See firsthand some of the intriguing ways nature moves, stores, and conserves water to make the most of this life-giving resource. Plus, learn about human efforts to assure safe and reliable water supply for all.

Where to Meet

Meet at the preserve parking lot on Montebello Road. From the intersection of I-280 and Foothill Expressway, go 3.5 miles southwest (toward the mountains) on Foothill Boulevard/Stevens Canyon Road.  Turn right on Montebello Rd.  The preserve is 0.5 miles up Montebello Rd. on the left.
