Enjoy exploring the trails in Midpen’s most popular preserve with Docent Naturalists Nancy Weintraub, Mallik K., and Bobbie Riedel on this moderately-paced, exercise-focused, “choose your own adventure” hike. You’ll help determine which 6-to-7.5-mile route to take depending on the weather, trail conditions, and how you feel. Highlights may include Wildcat Creek, scenic views, and hill climbs. The habitats will vary, as well, with the opportunity to hike through grasslands, oak and bay woodlands, chapparal, and/or riparian ecosystems depending on the route. Brink a snack for a short break.
Meet near the restroom at the bottom of the hill in the preserve parking lot farthest to the right. From I-280, take Foothill Boulevard south and turn right almost immediately onto Cristo Rey Drive. Continue about 1 mile, veer right around the traffic circle, and turn left into the park. After entering the preserve, turn right and drive approximately 0.3 miles to Lot 6.
