Discover the variety of fungi tucked into the winter woods with Docent Naturalists Jianfei Hu, Catherine Xun, Kim Borick, and Naureen Moon. On this moderately-paced hike, you’ll pause to examine the shapes, colors, and habitats of fungi encountered along the Peters Creek Trail. You’ll gain a new appreciation for the life beneath your feet while learning how these remarkable organisms recycle nutrients and form partnerships with trees. Bring your curiosity and a snack or lunch. (Note: This hike focuses on observing and learning about fungi in their natural habitat. Collecting is not permitted.) Reservations are required and will be accepted on or after January 17 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) and close January 29 at 2:00 p.m.
