It’s spring-time! Join Docent Naturalists David Kocsis, Linda Smith, and Chris MacIntosh for a moderately-paced hike to check out the wildflowers that were nourished by the abundant winter rains and see the hillsides at their greenest. En route you’ll learn about the many varieties of plant communities that can be found in this relatively small preserve. If the weather is fine, bring a lunch or snack to enjoy at the picnic tables down by Stevens Creek. At the end of the trip you’ll have the option to do a little wine tasting at Picchetti Winery on your own. Please note that this hike will go ahead in light or moderate rain – it can be a wonderful time to see this preserve if you have good raingear.
Meet at the preserve parking lot on Montebello Road. From the intersection of I-280 and Foothill Expressway, go 3.5 miles southwest (toward the mountains) on Foothill Boulevard/Stevens Canyon Road. Turn right on Montebello Rd. The preserve is 0.5 miles up Montebello Rd. on the left.
