Search for Lost Hiker in Windy Hill Open Space Preserve

All access to Windy Hill Preserve from the Portola Valley area is TEMPORARILY CLOSED to the public while search and rescue efforts are ongoing and vehicles, equipment and personell involved in the search are being staged in the area.

Midpen rangers are assisting the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office in the ongiong search for a missing person identified as a 79-year-old woman with dementia who was last seen on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at approximately 12 p.m. in Windy Hill Open Space Preserve.

There is an increased law enforcement presence in and around the preserve. To aid the efficiency of the search, please avoid the area of the Windy Hill parking area in Portola Valley to allow trained personnel to conduct their work.

Anyone with sightings or information is asked to please call 911.
