CEQA Notices
By law, the District is required to notice the public regarding projects that meet California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) standard for public notification. The District also notifies the public about meetings where the public can learn and comment on projects or items of District Business.
Notice of Availability: Draft Environmental Impact Report for the Redwood Cabin Removal Project

The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (Midpen) has prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Report (Draft EIR) pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act for the removal of an historic building (the redwood cabin) located within the La Honda Creek Open Space Preserve (APN: 075-330-260).
The project would entail demolition of a redwood cabin and removal of associated onsite features in order to:
- Remove physical hazards and improve site safety
- Address trespassing and vandalism issues
- Restore the natural resource, open space and scenic values of the surrounding forest
Public Review and Comment Period: April 14, 2022 – May 31, 2022
All comments on environmental issues received during the public comment period will be considered and addressed in the final EIR, which is anticipated for release in fall 2022. Midpen will accept written or emailed comments on the draft EIR submitted by 5 p.m. on May 31, 2022. Comments should reference Redwood Cabin Removal Project DEIR in the subject line of the email or in the written comment letter and be sent to the project manager:

Virtual Public Review Meeting: April 27, 2022 at 7 p.m.
Public comments can also be provided in writing or orally at the virtual public meeting with the Midpen board of directors. The meeting agenda and details on how to comment and participate will be posted to openspace.org/public-meetings by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 22.

Print copies are also available for public review at Midpen's administrative office during business hours at 330 Distel Circle in Los Altos (please contact project manager Jared Hart to schedule a time), and at the Woodside Public Library.
