Midpen Seeking Participation for $300M Bond Oversight Committee
Los Altos, CA — The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (Midpen) is currently accepting applications from qualified individuals interested in serving a four-year term on the Measure AA Bond Oversight Committee.
Measure AA is a $300 million general obligation bond approved in June 2014 by over two-thirds of District voters. Proceeds from bonds are used by Midpen to preserve natural open space lands, create new public access opportunities and restore the natural environment.
There are currently three vacancies on the seven-member committee. Midpen seeks individuals to serve on the Bond Oversight Committee who are committed to transparency, accountability, and provide oversight for all Measure AA funds collected and expended. Members of the Bond Oversight Committee must be residents living within Midpen’s jurisdiction, which includes parts of San Mateo, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties. To check eligibility, use this interactive map.
The Measure AA Bond Oversight Committee convenes several times a year and thoroughly reviews the annual Measure AA expenditures and Midpen’s Annual Audit and Accountability report. Each year, the Oversight Committee’s findings will be presented to the Board at a public meeting and will be posted on Midpen’s website.
Applications are due by 5 p.m. on August 31, 2026.
