Highlighting a Year of Partnership and Progress

On December 5, the Half Moon Bay Library buzzed with energy as regional open space and park agencies joined local nonprofits for the 2025 Coastside Community Celebration. Representatives from the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA), Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST), California State Parks, San Mateo County Parks, and Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (Midpen) gathered to honor a year marked by collaboration, community connection and shared commitment to stewarding the Coastside’s natural and cultural resources.
The event brought together an inspiring mix of community partners, including ALAS, Coast Pride, Branching Out Adventures, Latino Outdoors, and several other organizations whose leadership and creativity helped strengthen ties across the region throughout 2025. Together, attendees reflected on the meaningful accomplishments achieved over the past year, from expanding inclusive outdoor programming to deepening relationships with Coastside residents and organizations.
Beyond celebrating past successes, the gathering offered space to spark new ideas and build momentum for the year ahead. Conversations throughout the event centered on expanding access to nature, uplifting diverse community voices and continuing to work collectively to support a thriving, connected Coastside.
The Coastside Community Celebration served as a warm reminder of what’s possible when public agencies and community partners come together with shared purpose and set the stage for even stronger partnerships in 2026.
