New corral-style bike rack with space for up to 10 bikes located near the restroom at the Purisima Creek Road Parking Area

New Bike Amenities

Published April 2, 2026

Great news for cyclists visiting Purisima Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve! Following recommendations from the 2022 Purisima Creek Multimodal Access Study, we’ve been enhancing amenities to make it easier to reach and enjoy the preserve without a car.

In March, Midpen completed the installation of a new style of bike rack in the preserve that offers more contact points, making it easier and safer to park your bike while you explore. You’ll now find two new bike racks along Purisima Creek Trail near the Redwood Parking Area restroom, and a 10-bike capacity, corral-style rack, along with a bike repair station, wheel brush and boot brush station near the Purisima Creek Road Parking Area restroom.

More multimodal and bike-friendly improvements to the preserve are on the way, with additional amenities planned for the North Ridge parking area and future Verde Road parking area.
