The Bay Nature Institute has named Nonette Hanko as their Conservation Action Hero of 2022 in recognition of her significant contributions to the conservation of the natural landscapes of the San Francisco Bay Area.
Each fall brings a torrent of feathers to the Bay Area. With freezing winter weather approaching, birds across the world are moving south to areas that have more abundant food and good nesting sites.
