SEEDS Service-Learning Funding Program

Program Goal

Service-learning combines hands-on stewardship with education about the resources being protected, the ecological purpose of the work, and the District’s approach to land management.

Through the SEEDS Funding Program, the District seeks partners that can organize, lead, educate, and supervise participants to accomplish meaningful stewardship work. A substantial portion of participant time is expected to be devoted to hands-on resource management activities.

Most events are expected to involve manual invasive plant removal. Other activities may include native planting, seeding, seed or plant material collection, watering and plant establishment, and restoration site maintenance. Additional stewardship activities may be considered with District approval.
